What sports could be co-ed fairly?

Some like football, soccer, basketball obviously wouldn't work well co-ed (in a competitive sense). But are there sports where women and men could realistically be in the same league? I'm thinking softball, polo, ultimate frisbee maybe

Pretty much any non- or limited-contact sport, provided the ratio of male to female participants is the same on both sides.

I play a lot of badminton, and in particular mixed-doubles. The asymmetry between the male and female is what makes it a far more interesting and strategic game, as there's a clear preferred formation (the guy at the back, using his speed and power to set up his partner at the front) and you're always trying to manoeuvre yourself into this formation while also disrupting the opponents' formation. Even with male players capable of smashing at over 400kph (the fastest tennis serve is 263kph), the top women are still able to hold their own incredibly well.

Golf, many horse riding events, darts. In general, those where competing doesn't involve DIRECTLY going up against your opponents.

I'd say chess, but given that the world chess federation STILL insists on making the threshold for grandmastership lower for women (and no, they don't use pieces made out of depleted uranium, just the usual wood and plastic), evidently they feel that women are just incapable of competing in an event that involves lifting pieces that may weigh as much as half an ounce.

I don't know about "fair", but many sports could at least be practiced fairly. I've played soccer on co-ed teams and as long as there are roughly as the distribution is good between the teams it works well. I also pratice krav maga and I do drills with guys all the time. We just focus on technique and not actually trying to hurt each other. So we can definitely play sports together, but as for fair competition like you asked about, I think only non physical sports like riding horses or something

I actually think really physical sports like waterpolo could potentially be fair assuming that each team has an equal number of men and women in the water at all times. That and since dirty moves are pretty much allowed the woman can legally use those to even the playing field when guarding guys or could also just stay on a woman most of the time.

That makes sense, as long as you have equal numbers of guys/ girls on each team it could definitely be even. What do you mean, do people go around pushing each other under?

E sports and Chess, not that Chess is a sport, people say it is, but it isn't, the execution of the moves doesn't alter the outcome, therefore it is not a sport.

None of this is desirable though because although women are potentially just as good as men in these things they simply dont take part in sufficient numbers for the best women to be as good as the best men and people want to know who the best women are.

Every team sport, and if you just limit it to school education, nobody cares, there are so many different people coming together, and no one gives a shit whats between the legs, you got kids who get a heart attack walking to the fridge and kids who play a sport in their free time 3 times a week, competing with and against each other.

Any team sport with equally mixed teams will essentially be “fair”. Same with sports like golf and tennis, that aren’t necessarily team sports but can be played as such. I think anything one-on-one, or where the structure might pit male players directly against female, is going to be less fair.
In all honesty, in the most competitive leagues and formats, i don’t think anyone really wants that. Look at all the fuss trans athletes in women’s sports is causing right now.

I think there's a big speed advantage any time I've seen soccer played. It seems like soccer is one where guys have a huge advantage

If it was guys vs girls then yes but if both sides had equal guys and girls I think it could work. Not saying it’s ideal but I think it’s a sport that it could work.

Anything that doesn't require a ton of physical contact. Football to me wouldn't work very well.
