Is Karate effective? I want trying karate but my cousin says is not effective I want too learn judo , What’s your opinion?

It’s effective for physical conditioning, understanding body mechanics, and training discipline. It’s also effective for sparing or competing in tournaments.

If you are looking to be able to actually fight, there are better options out there.

Go with what inspires you but recognise the limitations of whatever you're learning. Even traditional martial arts can vary wildly in terms of whether the instructor actually tries to keep things practical and realistic.

Your cousin will probably say everything is shit but MMA, so pay no heed. Some people actually appreciate the 'art' aspect, it's not just about trying to bash someone's head in in a cage.

Both Karate and Judo are martial arts, they focus on different things.

Karate focuses and punches, and Judo is about throws, and wrestling on the floor.

I took judo at 10 years old. It’s like wrestling you throw people I like it.
