I mean instead of staying home wallowing in self pity these folks are making the best of what they've got and going out and achieving things

Don’t say “inspirational” that just means you’re turning your ableism into inspiration porn. They’re athletes, they’ve been training for this all year and then some. It’s not anymore inspirational than the able-bodied olympians. And I’ve never really been that interested in watching sports.

My man, they are disabled. They’re not going to push themselves past their limits just for the sake of pleasing others if they have any sense. These people are athletes, they want to do this and are passionate about it. Disabled people are ALREADY doing what they’re passionate about without you saying they should be inspired by disabled athletes
