This is the sort of techniques I was trained in for just over 6 years.

I watched the first minute and a half and it already look bad. His scenario is a striker (boxer) vs a grappler (jujutsu) and as the grappler he is trying to get into the boxers center line and giving up his back. That's pretty much the worst things to do in a street fight.
If you watched, he demonstrated an incorrect way first and then did the correct way, IIRC
by the way, I didn't claim to be a fan of everything he demonstrated. I'm not a fan of headbutts as a planned maneuver, because they hurt yourself as much as the other guy.
I am a practitioner of standing joint locks and elbow locks, etc, so make of that whatever you will.
there is no perfect martial art, you're going ot disagree with something someone does no matter what.
It's just way easier to get off the center line to avoid getting hit and stomp a knee, shovel hook the liver, or do an arm drag and hyper extend an elbow and then easily have access to something like rear naked choke or a German suplex if you want to take them to the ground for restraint. There's really no reason to eat punches unless you are constrained by sports rules.
I 100% agree with that. I like to try to pass my opponent's standing guard and get a reverse wrist lock and/or a reverse neck breaker position for real street self-defense. So if he throws a right cross-punch, I'm stepping to my left and outside middle blocking the punch and applying reverse wrist lock as I pass his standing guard. That's street self-defense, probably doesn't exactly work against another brown or black belt level fighter.
I'd be more worried about getting into a fight with someone with a knife in the other hand on the street than getting in a fight with a trained martial artist. Try to block one punch, and a knife is coming from the other side. Just circle and get their rear one way or another. Many people carry knives and guns, few people train to a high level in martial arts.
I try to demonstrate this technique by myself, but I really need a partner.

Isolate the wrist, punch through the floating ribs with the opposite hand and grab the back of the elbow and then arm drag...
