Have you ever been coasteering?

Coasteering originated in my home county and has spread around the world. It involves making your way around sea cliffs by a combination of swimming, rock climbing, and cliff jumping letting you get to places otherwise inaccessible except by boat.

It's very popular here with both locals and tourists taking part. Being a group sport it's also a great way to meet (fit) people.

I assume it's done with proper guidance from experienced people. And only with a sea that is calm. You don't want waves crashing in.

Yes, there's quite a few companies here that'll take you out. It is done when there's a lot of wave action but it's tailored to the ability of the group

Seems pretty stupid. Moving laterally along a rock wall doesn't have much appeal. Just get in the damned water if you want to see the coastline up close. Lot's more critters to play with in the water. And you can move a lot faster.

All summer long but I'm surprised there's no cheese involved. yet.

Well, we have only sand beaches with few bigger rocks left by Scandinavian ice shield 11k years ago. We could build sandcastles in bikinis, or playing beach volleyball that attract more tourists.

You have to do that sometimes during high tide at some of the beaches here. If you don’t time it right, the waves will smash you against the rocks

I think I've sort of done this a few times inadvertently after getting knocked off a surfboard by a wave and drifting a long way. All I wanted to do is get on the beach safely.
