Is Thunder vs Spurs the best NBA matchup of this generation?

Watching this series is like watching the Chicago Bulls play a clone team of themselves. It's the number one defense in the league against the number 2 defense in the league, but I'd go farther and say it's the best two defenses I've seen SINCE the second Chicago Bulls threepeat team.

It's freaking nuts that the Thunder found a way to beat San Antonio. Now all they have to do is repeat this strategy 3 more times to win the series.

They are playing against a 7'5" GIANT who can cover one side of the lane from the opposite side of the lane, and yet they found a way to score 122 points in regulation. It was a completely bonkers game.

Update: Thunder was +28 for the game with McCain in the game. That's NUTS. Most warped statistic I think I've ever seen. He and Alex Caruso basically manufactured the comeback and the win.

Sad thing is other teams are going to try to poach the Thunder's bench during the offseason trades. I can see it coming.

This is the NBA script. They build up the Thunder, give them every advantage (The MVP, the free throws). Now they bring in Wembanyamaha to face them and even though the Thunder is the better team they're going to give the series to the Spurs because they need Wembanyamaha to be their next star when Lefraud James retires.😆

I like Alex Caruso for the Thunder. That guy doesn't give up on ANY points or possession. He plays his heart out for every point.

Thunder–Spurs from the early–mid 2010s is definitely one of the elite matchups of this generation, but I wouldn’t call it the single best.

It was a beautiful contrast: OKC’s explosive athleticism and iso stars vs San Antonio’s surgical ball movement and system, with both defending at a crazy level.

I’d still put Heat–Spurs and Warriors–Cavs right there with it in terms of overall impact, stakes, and legacy. 🏀🔥
