Was anyone else shocked by the Qatar - Switzerland 1 - 1 draw?

I went to that one, even though I don't root for either team, because it was the closest one to me that was reasonably priced and scheduled. Also, Switzerland recently beat the US 4 - 0 in a friendly and Jordan 4 - 1 in a friendly, both of which are ranked higher than Qatar, so I was expecting to see A LOT of goals (mainly from Switzerland.) Switzerland outshot Qatar like 25 to 7, but was only able to put one controversial penalty kick in the back of the net. Just when I thought I wouldn't see anymore goals, Qatar scored an equalizer deep into extra time, and the Qatari fans went absolutely mad! After the match they were still celebrating, as if they had WON. The Swiss fans on the otherhand, felt defeated. I thought Qatar might score at least one, but I was expecting Qatar to get anihalated like 5-1. I certainly wasn't expecting a draw and the only Swiss goal to be from a PK.

Matches like that are why I love sports 😄 Qatar treated it like a World Cup final and played with massive heart, while Switzerland clearly underestimated them and weren’t clinical. Dominating stats but dropping points happens a lot in football.

I’d have expected a comfortable Swiss win too, so that late equalizer and celebration must’ve been insane to experience live ⚽🔥
