Do you think women's football is a rebellion against a heteronormative, male-dominated culture?

With the World Cup excitement going on, I'm not a die-hard fan myself, but in general, men who think football is stupid tend to be gay. In fact, if gay people make up around 3% of society, then among male footballers that figure is at most 0.03%.

I say male footballers because when it comes to women, the situation is supposedly the complete opposite. Perhaps 90% of female footballers are lesbians. They usually sleep with their teammates, and when they transfer to another club, they break up and get together with another teammate.

Do you think womens football is a rebellion against a heteronormative, male-dominated culture?

A certain person famously argued that it was immoral for women to take part in fields like football and basketball. According to him, men created such sports to compensate for their biological "deficiency"—namely, not being able to give birth.

As for the issue they constantly complain about—pay—they are not producing an equal level of performance. Fifteen-year-old boys can dribble circles around them. But if stadiums were actually full of people coming to watch them, then I could say they had a point about the pay issue. Still, why would someone choose to watch a match that offers less entertainment?

No, statistics and data don't really matter to me. I'd just chalk it up to coincidence rather than trying to find a connection
