You are correct, but then half the people in the BJJ camp and MMA camps try to deny this fact. Most of them do not know real JJJ techniques, which is why I've been able to tap them out the times I rolled with them (most of the time anyway)... and that's not even the real lethal and maiming moves that JJJ teaches. Of course we cannot use those in sports, and asking me to "demonstrated it for real" by them is uninformed, because we know the techniques work because they were used in real military combat for hundreds of years.

You're absolutely right. Grand Master Kano invented Judo as a "sport friendly alternative" to real JJJ...

One of the first techniques my second Sensei teaches to white and yellow belts is how to do an easy pass of an opponent's standing guard and apply either a Reverse Neck Breaker or a Standing Back Breaker. Now the Standing Back Breaker actually attacks the opponent's Jaw with insane pressure and can dislocate or break their jaw. It won't kill the person, but they'll lose the fight and they'll be eating soup out of a straw for the next 6 months and won't be able to eat solid food.

Both techniques are banned in MMA under the "no neck cranks" rule.
