So. . . I've been using win 10 for quite a while and it was fine, everything was fine but in the recent months everything just got fucked up. There was blue screen after blue screen. But that's not all, here's the icing on the cake, windows update comes along and my mouse is gone. At the time I thought it was no big deal so I ran the system restore. . . No mouse or keyboard. . . Even better right?
My shit got fucked up hardcore but I don't mind because my porn is safe, I know what you're thinking, 'where's your images?' just don't even ask.
It's fine now but. . . I miss nanami already

Saw all this during win8.1-64 in cooperation with "no support" ASUS machine finally solved by Acronis & Norton support - go figure
Win8.1 took some 3rd party programs away from me, most notable accounting program that a) exported annual data to TaxCut, giant time saver + b) tons of time getting updates that even highest level MS Support couldn't solve after months of waiting in 2-3hr them-in-control of my computer sessions... I had to tell THEM how to fix others' once solved? Was even looking at a summer deadline of no more MS support if the updates didn't get installed (the one that added the search magnifying glass to the lock/startup? screen...

Uhm... Wtf did I just read... Secondly... Yea windows 10 you gotta be mindful of what you install. There have been a few shitty updates. Tbh, u can blame Microsoft for firing major work forces of people.
It's important stuff, did you read all of it? It seems like the best thing to do is get pro then edit the registry to prevent updates. I blame Microshit for everything, they fucked me and I'm hoping they won't do it again.
I wonder if they even test the updates properly before they come out?

Yeah, I only have one blue screen pop up, not blue screen after blue screen. I haven't had a blue screen in awhile. Maybe you should be careful. Don't go to websites that you know may give viruses, or cause your computer to have some problems.
I've been running Windows 10 on my laptop for almost a year or something by now and it's been fine. The issues with your mouse sound more like driver problems.. I actually had something similar happen with my touchpad back on windows 8 where I updated my os to a newer version of windows 8, but the driver update wasn't included or something. So the touchpad went kaput due to driver incompatibility or something.
That was pretty easy to resolve once I figured out what the issue was. But since switching to windows 10, it's been pretty smooth sailing.
@mooky06 If it ain't broke, then don't fix it, right? Besides Windows 7 also still retains the start menu, unlike Windows 8. 10 brought back the Start menu, it some times makes me wonder if Windows 10 is really what Windows 8 should have been in the first place? The same goes for if Windows 7 is what Windows Vista really should have been in the first place, but only because M$ is milking the cow.
Win. 10 Pro+ This is fine for me. And because I'm on a laptop. I did a full clean install after doing the upgrade install, although I did that on a separate hard drive. That's why it's always good to have more than 1 hard drive. I'd take Windows 10 over Windows 8 since I prefer to have a Start menu. Any other case if Windows 10 is giving you a hard time, dual boot and run Windows 7 instead. The golden rule is always, ALWAYS BACK UP ALL OF YOUR FILES AND SHIT BEFORE IT'S TOO FUCKING LATE. because if a disaster happens, you're gonna lose a lot of data, or even all of your important files and data.
@Unit1 or your school assignments and work. Or any of your save games unless you have cloud savegames. Or any important stuff like game mods, etc. or relaly large files that you don't want to have re-download all over again.

On my desktop it's pretty stable except for a few hiccups where windows decided to boot into self repair mode and decided to freeze my computer to do background. No way should windows background task freeze a quad core i5 and 8gb of ram. On my laptop it's a totally different story, it's extremely slow to boot, and when it finally does boot it's extremely slow to use and randomly shuts just like all power was removed from the laptop. I know I'll get downvotes for saying this, but Windows vista was way better and more stable than Windows 10, when vista was on my laptop it ran perfect. Right now I have my laptop dual booting windows 10 and Linux mint but will soon be switching it to dual booting Vista and Linux mint again.
I had problems with it. I hate that it's backwards (or forwards, whatever) compatible. Really old programs and games don't work on it. I also had to reinstall it twice because I was getting that blue screen of death, and ended up losing "Movie Maker" - my favorite free program by Windows. Now it's gone. Oh well. If I could choose which OS to have I would go with Windows 7.

windows 10 is indeed famous as the mouse killer and also sd card readers. it was the worst thing ever installing it on my old hp but bought a new asus with it preinstalled and its been fine. i guess it relies on newer machines to cope with its wayward streak
Well, perhaps it is because I don't really upgrade it with any fancy apps. My laptop overheats real fast so I only have the bare essentials on it, apart from a few drawing programs.

You can still stop Windows from updating by deactivating the windows updates service in services. msc. I honestly think, that the windows 10 haters are overreacting with their hostility towards Windows 10. It ain't even closely that bad. I never saw so many cavemen hating on Windows 10

Nein, i just made a straight upgrade from Windows 8 to 10 and retained everything including my little pony and porn. No reg changes whatsoever i did but only disabled Windows Updates in services (dot) msc. It's easy.

Drivers can be faulty especially if you use unsupported hardware from manufactures, that don't bother maintaining their hardware drivers for newer OS. In my example it was my old ASSUS mainboard but i still got lesser blue screens with each newer Windows release.

@Unit1 I'm on Windows 10 Pro also. The biggest problem I've heard is that many people that took advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10 didn't do a full clean install from scratch which is why there are problems, but too many people aren't aware and don't know how to do that so, it's not a surprised. And besides I'm on a laptop, never really noticed anything unusual about it. Desktop pcs, however might have more settings to adjust and tweak if there are problems. Always make sure you have the up to date and latest drivers that are compatible with Windows 10 and you all good :-D
@JudgmentDay The only difference Windows 10 has on laptops and PCs is the battery and power consumption mode. Other than that they are exactly the same in terms of functionality.

I have less control over Windows 10 than over 7 Coming back from a vacation, I tried to update Windows 10 Failed. The day after it updated itself. I don't know if it were the same updates or different. I tried to update Java. ( I had an update on two Win 7 computers.) It looks like it has no Java. Should I add it or does Win 10 includes some emulation? I don't like systems I can't control.
I had it installed when I first got the laptop and one day it just broke without me doing anything to it. No dodgy software or anything, it just died. I haven't had the funeral yet, I'm trying to find my receipt to get my warranty on it.
@JohnTitor_ sounded more like a hardware failure than anything else. Does the computer turn on or boot at all? If it doesn't turn on or charge, it indicates a hardware problem. If you have the warranty, have them send you a new replacement, but the biggest headache is if you had anything important on your laptop that you had not backed up before the computer entirely stopped working.
It turns on but it when I try to get passed the first screen and to the PIN, it removes any UI and just shows the background. If I'm lucky, I can get to the PIN and into the advanced settings by holding shift and restart. From there, all options tell me that they are incapable of being ran. If I decide to input the PIN instead, it shows me the background and nothing else.
Yeah I'm currently looking for a Windows 7 , I've had so much bad luck with Windows 10. Now Windows 10 is trying to force people to use Microsoft Edge instead of other browsers.
I'm running Win10 in a tablet with an Atom processor. Haven't had any trouble, but I don't really grill it like I grill my desktop.

my Windows 10 on my Dell All in one got all messed up. Taskbar doesn't work anymore or cortana. I can't even get to setting it just shuts down. My apps don't work anymore. That only thing I can do is go on Google chrome and surf the internet
Win10 Pro here. Everything is fine, but recently I had to reinstall windows because my SSD failed. I get what you mean about the mandatory updates though... it's bull crap.

I support a lot of Windows 10 systems at works, it is a lot more stable then it used to be with less OS specific stuff. My motherboard at home just hates it though.
KMODE_EXEPTION_NOT_HANDLED googles it and it with some failure with hardware and could be with new hardware like my new ram but works great now now problem. Nothing a reset can't fix
