How accurate is instagram logging exact device model? Phone that was stolen was a sm -g930f and a sm-g935f logged in? Did instagram get it wrong?

They're pretty much 100% accurate if you don't modify your phone.

So even though phones are so similar there's a good chance it wasn't my phone that was stolen?

My phone that was stolen was a Samsung s7 and the phone that logged in was a Samsung s7 edge

There isn't a chance that it was another phone. It WAS another phone.

Rightfully so someone commented below that instagram gets location wrong. It got my location wrong and said I was in a town 15 miles away from me. Is Samsung model and location different. Less likely to get location correct but accurate in device model

location is usually goes by the cell tower or where the cell towers internet servers are and they could be literally anywhere and you can't really position the phone with that.
