The same stalker who likes to badmouth me continues to make multiple accounts to pretend to “befriend” me and the moment i dont agree with something said, they turn on me and it leads to a huge blowout post. I already dont trust mfs here but like dang How many fake accounts do u need to create to get through to me? Like are you that bored and lonely that you choose to stalk me? I did accept followers in the beginning of my newbie time here on GAG. However, after about one month, and based on the picture I had posted on my profile, the number of followers skyrocketed.
Unfortunately, I had to realize that a very large number of those were only following in order to send private messages and ask sexual topics and trade nudes. The blue/pink gender segregation, I learned later, was just in theory because a number of those pink profiles ended being guys in disguise.
So, since about 9 months, I took the decision to remove all followers and I removed all the follows that I initiated, in an attempt to be free of online harassment. I have set my profile to private and tweaked one setting or two on my settings et voilà! I don't see anymore follow requests anymore and no one can send me unwanted dm's.
People can still send follow requests except that I don't answer them anymore. There are currently more than 300 on the waitlist. That simplifies my life here substantially.
I feel you. My profile is private but im not accepting new follows and i removed all who seemed suspect or just simply didn't respond to any of my questions after months
I'll only accept them based on the questions and opinions they've posted/answered. If they're one to continuously ask "how do I look" or absurdly vulgar sexual questions... I avoid accepting them.
There's nothing bad in making new friends. But digital world has made it more difficult for one to separate the fakes from the reals. I have about 300 people who follow me on insta but i follow only the knowns. Sometimes i get some texts and i reply the one's who have a legit talk or to the people who are just trying to be friendly. One in 10 happens to be a fake... whatever you call it. I simply tell him/ her to stop. If he/she stops then it's good but if the things get worse i simply block them.
My point is that you'll occasionally meet such type of people. You come across every type of person. The thing that is of importance is what you do with them. If you're friendly then you'll surely get many friends online but another side of that is that you'll get stalkers too. Try avoiding them by ignoring them or blocking them.. etc but you shouldn't change yourself. Don't make yourself a loner due to some fools.
Only after looking at their profile to see what kinds of content they post, how many followers they have and how many people they are following.
Mostly so I can tell whether or not they are one of those types who constantly invites me to questions like "what did he mean when he said he likes me?"
Of course, I only do that with new users or ones I do not remember.

you know all it does is fuel the fire... you are better not to directly interact with them but instead let admin and the moderation team know what is going on... if a users keeps logging in using multiple accounts just to stalk or troll we can trace the ip address and but a block on it
yes these things can be very drawn out as its not easy to track them but like i said dont respond to them and always report them and eventually they will be forced to give up or get removed permanently
I still accept followers, but that is also because I only have a few. Some people are fucking desperate or hold a grudge. I haven't agreed with everybody on here, but I also believe in a civil and controlled conversation; that is the only way that two parties can ever agree on anything if they disagree on everything/anything.

yeah it started last year lol the first one i read was form a girl who wanted advice on how to have strippers at a baby shower lol so yeah i took a small break thinking people were just getting strange. but good grief it just seems i missed the boat that brought the rest of them in lol.

I didn't know i had the option of not allowing people to follow. I just pop on every now and then and it says you're now being followed by blah blah blah. So i quickly look behind me. ::::shrugs:::: then look at my nwxt notification.

Sure. I have never blocked anyone, though a few people have inexplicably blocked me despite, at most, only answering their public questions. Which I find kind of amusing.
To me it's pointless to really follow someone you don't really talk to or know. I will follow someone sometimes if that's the only way I can send them a message but they have to follow me back too.
They werent private. They answered a lot of my questions and always got to xper 3+ really fast in less than a montt of being here so i didn't always look at the join date til later on. But its sad that that person makes numerous profiles and changes their race everytime but is always the same gender. And they always call me something certain that gives them away and they always say they live in that same city. And everytime i figure them out it leads to a huge embarassing blowout where they try to use everything they ever new about me from when we first first started off as something like “friends”
But yes, I do add followers. I accept all of them. And I always follow back, with the only exception of it being an underage girl because I kind of feel like it would be improper to follow them.
