Go for it, buying a first generation console was last time a nice thing as ps1 was released

Ps2 had region codes (game from another state didn't run)

Xbox had in first generation burning out chips shortly after warranty was over

Ps3 had in the first and second generation problems with the heat

Xbox 360, remember the "red ring of death" in first and second generation... Unfortunately I bought both

Ps4 had in first generation also heat problems

Xbox one, I didn't have one, but my brother bought first generation and day one patches are suddenly a standard

Dont ever buy a first generation of anything, because thats just a mass produced prototype to test... because it costs a lot of money to test a product, but if I sell you the prototype and host a hotline with friendly woman voices for "help"... you know where this goes...

All the games with like 2 exceptions will be available on both consoles. It boils down too this
Do you want faster loading screens?
Will the graphics update make a difference for you?
Think smart and don't rush to waste money

The PS5 is much better than the PS4, but it doesn't have many games that take advantage of that. The PS4 and it's games will continue to drop in price, so best wait until Black Friday or Christmas before buying new.

No just wait for the PS5 to release, it's releasing in November, the PS5 will have a rebooted version in the PS5 graphics eventually within the next few months, I think the Spiderman game for the PS4 will release next month or December for the PS5. Whatever stuff you have for the PS4, just sell your games and consoles and get store credit to use towards a PS5. I know living in Canada, EB Games told me the disc version of the PS5 will cost $649 I believe. If you live in the US that's probably around $500.

Honestly, most of the first run games are gonna be on both, so it really depends on your funds, console availability, and how future proof you want to be. Personally I try to never buy the first run of a console in case of production issues, and anything under 150-200(USD) for a ps4 is a good deal

no, the ps5 is not necessary and probably isn't any better than ps4 (graphics wise)

the constant updates of unneeded consoles is jus a marketing tactic to scam u out of your money for a console u dont need,

If you got the money, why not. The games are still awesome and you can still upgrade a year later to ps5 once the prices drop and more is known about how good the pst and the games are.

Have ps4 but have maybe 23 games only and i am playing to buy more games after the release of ps5 there will be a game price drop. and right now i see no point to buy ps5 because the game prices will be very expensive. Unless you can afford it
