For me, it's kind of risky along with going by my real name since, while I'm far from a celebrity, I have given talks at major conventions, done interviews, have products with my name attached on them in the front sold to over a million customers.
I've also been reprimanded in the past at my company for being too friendly and candid with the customers. I don't mean in the sense of revealing anything related to our products but I was just too friendly in a way that made people higher up uncomfortable. I'm not good at keeping a professional distance from customers; I like to have fun and talk to them in a very friendly way like ordinary people.
So it seems quite risky to me if, for example, I went by a straightforward picture of my face here -- or my full real name -- and one of our many customers, or someone in my company, recognized me while I'm posting very candid answers about things like my drunken misadventures in my youth. It'd be very bad for PR.
I no longer use FB but when I did, I even got advised by my supervisors to make it private since I liked to write joke posts on my wall like a 3D design for a sex toy. It was just innocent little goofy humor and not political or anything but even that raised concern about how it reflected on the company. So I've had to learn the hard way to focus on public relations a bit when I'm going by my real name or straightforward photo in a very public forum like the internet or keep those things hidden where I can stop thinking about it (what I prefer since I'm a chatterbox and not very good at filtering what I say, and especially in a professional kind of way).
Risky
Todays facial recognition can find you till your last known address.
The metadata from your photos show everything to. Like your location, camera, and crap more stuff. But there are steps to remove that data from digtial photos and its not that hard to do.
Once its online its there for good, even if you pulled it off yourself.
At least with film you get none of that. Well you still have facial recognition to deal with
As far as photos having info, that’s why I added I’m only referring to the pic. Like if the pic is from a neutral source like Imgur and there’s no info attached.
As for Facial recognition, it can work whether there’s a pic of you or you’re just walking out in the street or having a convo at a cafe or reading in the library... I’m not sure why it makes a difference?
Thats why when I am in the city I wear dark glasses and a big hat. I act like a big movie star hidding from my public.
LMAO
Thanks for the MHO
I don’t do it but then again I’m paranoid about stuff like that. However, if you’re pretty it can attract stalkers and that’s a huge risk. One of many reasons I keep my Facebook page private.
Man I tend to not think about the consequences lol. When I ask something embarrassing though I try to change my profile picture into an animal or something lol because I feel embarrassed

Yeah I do it. I mean the way I see it is that my looks have changed so much since getting this condition that nobody can really identify me and even if they could I could just reverse it on them and tell them what they are doing on GAG. So its like both of us grabbing each other by the balls.
I got my Senior High School picture on here and I was like age 15-16 on that picture and often people will ask me about that picture but I tell them the gospel truth but I do find it a risk to post them online there are a lot of people who will use others pictures and I don't trust people I had a most recent pic on here and some male opened an account on here and he used my pic and I had to contact the Administrator they deleted it for me
I don't really see it as any different from people seeing my face in real life.
Simple. The world can be a bad place. The internet houses some of the worst people in the world. You can be found by anyone who is looking for you merely by posting a photo of yourself.
What an impressive reply. Someone taking a photo of you outside has to do so by seeing you. You can be seen ANYWHERE in the world from the net. Not just your local high street. Dear oh dear
I don’t see the difference bc they can take a pic snd post it online. Just like someone can take your pic from online and post it on line.
It’s not an outrageous question. What is the realistic actual difference? Most concerts seem based on the Internet having characters with bad intentions. No one is born online we all live in the world what’s online is off line too. It’s a genuine question. I don’t think it’s being honestly considered. Unless you are doing private stuff online you wouldn’t do offline, but that wasn’t the question. The question was only about posting a facial pic online. A picture can easily be posted online by any other person who sees you out in the works as well. That is why I asked.
Ummm catfishing just for one. Other I guess would be a lot of guys do tributes apparently without permission and just adds to the creepiness of those dms.
Can really can
people have a life and a separate one online. i don't see the harm in it. if you want to not be found out then change your usernames and don't become too popular
I wouldn't mind doing that if people didn't act so crazy
I see no problem with it at all, consider how many millions of faces you see online, why would you be a problem?
It's a bit of a time waste to be honest.
Also, it makes people think you're a scammer or suffer low self-esteem and can't show your real face.
I would rather see you in a bikini or Daisy Duke shorts then a super long dress that goes down to the floor
I used to, now I wouldn't post in a general forum only privately, that's old age for you! lol
I don’t post them.
I don't see the harm
I look good with a rose in my teeth, no? 😏
Ohh Viviant I don't know girl...
it's not inherently harmful
