Why do People who have a lot of followers (1500-10000) set their IG to private?

Its a game, you have to follow them to see their content, so basically its a ploy to keep their followers and not have people who ghost their profiles.

Like, if I share a popular private post, any of my friends who don't follow that popular person has to go and follow them to see what I shared.
