How do some of my friends have so many followers on instagram?

I have around 600 followers but I followed around 600 people too. it's mainly because I know a lot of people irl who would follow me back. but I know some people who are really quiet at school and hang out with nobody but they have like 2k followers and only followed like 5 people. and on each post they have like 5 likes. whereas I have like 300 to 400 likes on almost every post but they have 4 times more followers than me. I know this stuff doesn't matter at all but I'm just really CURIOUS. how is this possible? Oh yeah they also have a private account so it's not like their hash tags can help. and it says like nothing on the bio and it's literally just their name.

Its called a bot - like Instagress, which is actually a working one, but you gotta pay for it to work. There are also app on the store like Tags for likes or similar where you have to like pics or follow other users and you earn points which you can later use for likes/followers. The problem with the followers you get from apps like this is that they are mostly ghost followers. Hope I was helpful

They buy them or have some sort of hack
