Not very likely really. YouTube isn't really profitable and at best it serves as a way to boost other platforms of the same parent company and getting info on millions of people. Really the only company that might actually succeed in having a similar thing would be Amazon. Platforms like BitChute and Daily Motion exist, but they are stuck in 2008 and I doubt that they'll ever have a quarter of the traffic of YouTube.

Youtube is simply the video arm of Google. It's like asking when Whatsapp will be replaced, despite knowing it's the mobile platform of Facebook.

It’s so funny that you posted this because earlier I was thinking how much YouTube has changed. It used to be the site you go to for legendary videos and now it’s just a platform pretty much like tik tok and Instagram where already rich people feel the need to be narcissists and make content only showing off their luxury life, on top of another platform to make money they don’t need.

I am talking about Jenna marbles, Nigahiga (how to be gangsta) , annoying orange, other legendary videos that we used to see in 2005-2010. nearly zero because: youtube is too entrenched and established, content creators thrive on viewership and since youtube is one of the most popular sites in the world, switching to a platform with less viewers is counterproductive, google is the 800 pound gorilla in the room with very deep pockets so very few can compete with them.

with that said, niche players like twich and tik-tok have found some space in online video. but i doubt they're as profitable as youtube who makes nearly $20 billion a year.
