+1 yA sports Auto such as ZF 8AT, DSG or Steptronic
a normal auto is boring as fuck
A manual is incredibly easy to drive
A good Sports auto box gives a good all round driving experience
you can leave in plain old auto, go to sports with faster shifting or drive using the shifter pushing fwd n back to change gears or the steering wheel paddles.
oh and Sports Auto version of cars where there is a manual version are invariable ‘faster’ and give better MPG.01 Reply
Asker+1 yFair enough!

Asker+1 yI want to drive a manual but I've been driving an automatic but not as much because of my parents, as they have an automatic car. However, I have always wanted to drive a manual because of changing the gears as well.

To be frank, if you're gonna drive a low-end car or one that doens't have an aggressive character, it doesn't worth it.
Asker+1 yAs in which type of car?
- +1 y
Don't know, it's practically pointless to drive a manual Prius
Asker+1 yThanks for letting me know!
+1 yI like (and only have driven) a manual. I don't see automatic cars appealing, so I don't really want to try driving them either. I really love driving and like actually ''doing'' something like changing gears, etc 😅
But I can see why some people prefer automatic cars.08 Reply
Asker+1 yI want to drive a manual but I've been driving an automatic but not as much because of my parents, as they have an automatic car. However, I have always wanted to drive a manual because of changing the gears as well.
Asker+1 yDo you think I could still learn manual? Will I need to start driving from scratch?
- +1 y
Oh, I don't really know about that 😅 People I know, usually switched manuals for automatics, so I really don't know anything about how would it be from automatic to manual. I suppose a bit more complicated? I mean, you will have to learn how to control the clutch and change gears. It takes time till you get used to clutch (God, when I remember my first driving classes 😅)
Do you have anyone among friends/family who drives it, so they can show you a little? Like going on an empty parking lot if there is any near you. Just so you get the feel. The safest option is driving school tho. I don't know how are the rules in your country, but here where I live people who have an automatic license can't drive manual. They have to take classes for manual and pass the driving test (just driving, not theory).
I hope I helped you a bit, and I wish you a good luck! 😊
Asker+1 yI live in Australia and there are these things called Learner's Permits and I am on them at the moment. However, I have no one to take me, so I am considering saving up and maybe paying for a driving instructor, otherwise I'm not sure where to go from here.
- +1 y
Yeah, that's the best way. The instructor will teach you better than anyone.
Good luck! 😊
Asker+1 yThank you so much! <3

No problem 🥰

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yA manual gives you more control, less gas consumption, cheaper gear box repairs, but it's more work. I think it's more fun.
An automatic is the opposite, but it has it's benefits for old people, arthritis, and long straight boring roads.01 Reply
Asker+1 y100% agree with you on that one!

An automatic is much easier. In America, just about EVERY car is automatic.
A manual has a simpler transmission, so there are fewer parts that could wear out or go wrong. You're less likely to get car-jacked, since most car-jackers are dumbasses that don't know how to drive a manual.01 Reply
Asker+1 yYeah an automatic is fairly simple to drive to be honest.
whatever suits. I've only driven manual, so I can't exactly compare, but I enjoy actually changing the gears

I have driven both. I preferred a manual and now own an automatic. Things changed when i drove a Volkswagen gt automatic taking me to 100kmph in just 6 secs. Gave me chills. Also i prefer a paddel shifter over a stick

Manual is more fuel efficient, and once you mastered it, you can drive any car01 Reply
Asker+1 yThat's exactly why I want to master the manual.
Manual for sure. You get better control, they're less likely to suffer a malfunction, and they don't cost thousands of pounds to fix if something does go wrong.
