Why is it so impossible to set up an instagram account? Name wise, they are all “taken” or “unavailable”?

So I’ve never had an insta, I’ve never had a use, and I didn’t really see any point to it but some distant family wanted me to see their kids theatrical stuff so, to me this is a good reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

But no matter WHAT user name I choose, it refuses. 🤨

The name I’m using isn’t even taken on gmail (except by me) it’s not Vivant- it’s something else entirely. I’ve also tried many diff combos and numbers etc. I think it’s my 💩 connection and I’ll let you all know if it works when I’m in a diff area and log in sign up etc.

Technically your last statement is incorrect The passwords can be the same but the user name can't.

Punctuations are considered as special characters and are allowed.

A password by default should have one caps letter one small letter one special character and one numerical value minimum for a strong password to be set 🤣

Even if you use a simple but unique name which is not taken already Instagram will still not allow you to create one (unless you’re a celebrity or someone important). Indirectly it wants us to use a combination of alphanumeric and symbols even in our username.

are you forgetting to click on some sort of verification thing at the end? I know there's still a lot of possible names available. You might just have to give up and think of something more niche or random, with some numbers at the end. 😯

I used a name my great grandmother used to call me which I’m always able to use bc no one ever ever uses it soooo I don't know

yeah that's my guess. Some technical issue rather than the name being all used up. but again, ya never know. I've tried some of my "random" names on sites and they tell me they're already in use too... but there's no way. lol

well cause you're late to the game. the most common or uncreative names are taken.

but if you incorporate your last name into it, that should give good chances. unless you have some super common last name.
