Nope. Just like 3D TV was a damp squib again, can't see AR/VR being much better this time round.

Sure the technology has improved and there is more money in it. But it's not quite the game changer it was touted to be.

Until it becomes a popular thing, I see limited benefits to it. When AR becomes mainstream, I can imagine targeted ads everywhere.

Well in some sense, it already is. Qr codes are a form of augmented reality.

Interesting… I always thought of AR as input reality output an augmented reality. But in that case it’s input reality but the output is purely digital. I’ll have to think about that. Guess I can put AR on my resume… one of my software solutions I made relied heavily on QR core.

I think these VR headsets will not catch on. At least not yet. The technology has been ready for a long time but it is still just a niche technology that people don't seem to accept or like as they do monitors and mice/keyboards.
