- Maybe your phone doesn't recognize the sending address (if you use multiple addresses) as a "friendly".
- Maybe Verizon service is just bad in your particular area.
- Maybe the "internet" in your area is just plain overloaded. We have had it take up to a couple of hours on a few occasions to get a message- no problem with e-mails, though.
- Maybe your phone isn't configured as well as it could be: could be using resources on background info renewing, could be looking for wrong networks, cookies might need some work, etc.

You need to clear your app or browser's cookies and make sure your phone has enough storage space on it. Or else, apps act all f*cked up like this.
