Which is better. WhatsApp or telegram?

A long distant friend asked me to get on one of these. Was wondering which is better and the pros and cons of each.

Neither really but WhatsApp is the worst.

Telegram handed out data to the German Police by pretty much just asking for it. Use signal instead.

Anything you do on WhatsApp is going to be available forever to be browsed and read by Facebook employees.

I strongly recommend Signal.

Telegram has connections with Russian goverment.

It gave personal information of Turkish soldiers deployed in syria to the russia backed wagner group (mercenaries). I am one of the victims, I was in syria serving for Turkish army between 2017-2018. We reached couple of media organizations about it. Foreign ones didn't cared because they were against of Turkeys operations on Syria I suppose.

I will never use that app anymore.

Whatsapp... Now is Bought by Facebook, so i guess Telegram is Much more Encrytpted!
Won't be long ti'll someone will blow the whistle about the Data breach/Selling... so i don't trust whatsapp nomore, i like to wash my "dirty laundry" on Telegram.
