I'm an iOS person. I use an iPhone and an iPad. My reasons are simple. Up until about 5 years ago, most android phones were junk that you were lucky to get 2 years of service out of before something happened. Samsung has changed this. Once I made that switch to iPhone and learned the iOS OS I did not see the need to re-learn the android OS. One thing that I really love is my dual sim iPhone. Because of my business needs, I keep an American carrier "Verizon" for use in the US and a "Scarlet" sim for use in Belgium and for that matter most anywhere in the EU.

I have been using androids as far as I remember especially samsung note series devices but I had some huawei and nexus devices back in the day aswell. My current phone is S22 Ultra.

+1 yiPhone. I used Android for years, only Samsung phones, but they never lasted long and I couldnāt ever update to the latest Android software of the time. Iāve had this iPhone now for almost 4 years.

Android sucks a lot and I'm thinking about switching to either a Linux phone or, as a last resort, iPhone. But the main problem for me with the iPhone is the bloated price. Many people in my country have to work at least a month in order to be able to afford an iPhone.

+1 yAndroid. iPhones are overpriced and overprotective. Every new model comes complete with problems and worse, the deliberate slowing down of earlier models. I don't like Apple, I don't like their marketing strategies and I don't like their ethos.

+1 yAndroid. More settings to customize, more freedom such as downloading software not included in the play store, more accessories to choose from, and a lower price for the same specs of an Apple phone. My Pixel 4a is almost identical to my mom's iphone max. The only noticeable difference is that hers has a much bigger screen. Mine cost $450 and hers cost $1,000! I highly doubt that a bigger screen can increase the price by more than double.

@Guardian45 Never tried Ubuntu or Linux
+1 yAnything that has nothing to do with Apple. Apple is overpriced garbage that is designed to stop working so you'll have to upgrade. The other stuff is just fine until it can't hold a charge anymore. Once you're locked into Apple, you'll be locked into their apps and more of their products, and just like the phone... it will all be overpriced.
00 ReplyI like using my iPhone, which only the SE version but it serves my needs. Also I have iPad Air, which Iām using now to write this. Iāve never actually tried an android phone/tablet so I canāt really comment which is better.

+1 yI've not bought a phone in many years because my employer buys them for me. They have always been iPhones because I work in healthcare and get emails that may include sensitive patient information, and droids do not have adequate security. I like iPhone and iOS but I hate Apple.
00 ReplyI have both an iPhone and a Samsung S22 Ultra. The Samsung is a MUCH better phone and a lot more customizable.

@Guardian45 iphone
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI rather avoid Apple and Google altogether. However I stick to Android because Apple is much more than a rip off and forcing a vendor lock in.
Both are proven to be a privacy nightmare.
But I am not ready to get into a community maintained operating system like Lineage OS because I don't know if it will turn my phone into a metallic brick piece because the camera won't work or whatever.

+1 yAndroid, camera might be not as good compared to Iphone, at least from the memes I've seen, which are usually exaggerated anyway. Android has better battery life and durability. Android chargers are also usually a lot more findable, and they aren't specifically for androids.
