What do you think is the difference between them other than technical capacity?
In the most basic comparison the Pro is more powerful but heavier, the Air is lighter but less powerful.
I have a new Pro at home but I don’t enjoy using it and usually end up getting my eight year old ThinkPad out instead. It is not a bad laptop, it just that MacOS lacks good OneDrive integration and a couple of my most used apps are Windows only. My daughter has a slightly older Pro model and she loves it.10 Reply

I’m not sure but I think the only difference is that Macbook air doesn’t have a Fan and is visibly thinner.
A lot cheaper too.
If you’re buying, I think it comes down to your usage preference.

Differences between the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air
The MacBook Pro and MacBook Air differ from one another in a few significant ways. Compared to the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro is a little heavier and thicker, but it also offers a more potent processor and superior graphics. Although the MacBook Air is smaller and thinner, its processor and graphics are less robust. Although the panels on both computers are retina, the MacBook Pro's display has a little greater resolution. Additionally, the MacBook Air's battery is smaller and has a shorter lifespan.
For power users who require a more potent processor and greater graphics, the MacBook Pro is the best option. Users looking for a more portable, slimmer notebook with acceptable performance can choose the MacBook Air.
Differences between the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in Terms of Specs
Both the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are excellent laptops from Apple, but there are some significant technical differences between the two. Here are a summary of each laptop's primary specifications:MacBook Pro:
- Processor: Up to 2.8GHz Intel Core i7
- Memory: Up to 16GB
- Storage: Up to 1TB SSD
- Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
- Display: 15.4-inch Retina display (2880x1800)
MacBook Air:
- Processor: Up to 1.8GHz Intel Core i5
- Memory: Up to 8GB
- Storage: Up to 512GB SSD
- Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000
- Display: 13.3-inch (1440x900)The MacBook Pro, as you can see, has a more potent processor, more memory, and more storage space. Additionally, it has a better graphics card and a monitor with a greater resolution. So the MacBook Pro is a better option if you require a powerful laptop for gaming or video editing. The MacBook Air is an excellent choice if you need a lightweight laptop for routine tasks like web browsing and email checking.
Differences between the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in Terms of Design
There are a few significant distinctions between the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air's designs. The MacBook Pro has a more conventional laptop design with a built-in trackpad and physical keyboard, and it is a bit heavier and bigger. The MacBook Air, on the other hand, has a more contemporary design with a touchscreen display and a virtual keyboard. It is also thinner and lighter.
The MacBook Pro clearly wins in terms of performance. It can be upgraded with up to 16GB of RAM and has a stronger processor and graphics card. On the other side, the MacBook Air is restricted to 8GB of RAM and has a worse processor and graphics card.
Therefore, the MacBook Pro is the thing to go if you're searching for a strong and conventional laptop. However, the MacBook Air is the best choice if you're searching for a more contemporary laptop that is lighter and thinner.
Differences between the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in Terms of Performance
Although the two MacBooks may appear to be relatively comparable at first glance, the performance of the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air differs significantly. Here is a comparison of how they differ:
Processor: Compared to the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro has a speedier processor. This implies that the Pro is better capable than the Air of doing more difficult jobs like video editing or gaming. Regarding graphics, the Pro features a superior graphics card over the Air. This implies that it can handle more complex images more fluidly than the Air, such as 3D rendering or gaming.
Memory: The Pro has a maximum RAM capacity of 16GB, compared to the Air's 8GB. This implies that the Pro can perform more demanding activities more fluidly and can run more programs simultaneously without experiencing any lag.
Storage: The Pro has a maximum storage capacity of 4TB, whilst the Air's is 512GB. As a result, the Pro has a larger storage capacity than the Air for data, pictures, and videos.
Display: Compared to the Air, the Pro has a brighter and more colorful display. This indicates that it's better for activities like photo or video editing that demand a high level of visual acuity.
Battery life: The Air's battery life outperforms the Pro's. It can therefore last longer. This makes it preferable for travel because it can run for a longer period of time on a single charge.
The Pro is more expensive than the Air in terms of price. This is due to the machine's increased power, which includes a quicker processor, better graphics, and more storage.
Which MacBook is best for you, then? The Pro is the best option if you require a powerful machine for demanding tasks like video editing or gaming. The Air is a wonderful option if you require a lighter and more portable computer for routine operations like web browsing and email checking. And the Air is your best option if you require the most amount of battery life.
Which MacBook is best?
Many consumers shopping for a new laptop frequently choose MacBooks. But it might be challenging to decide which model is best for you with so many options available. Here is a list of the several MacBooks that are available to assist you in selecting the right one.
Since it is the lightest and most portable alternative, the MacBook Air is an excellent option for anyone who needs to carry their laptop everywhere. With prices starting at at $999, it is also the most cost-effective MacBook.
With more potent processors and graphics cards than the Air, the MacBook Pro is the MacBook line's workhorse. Starting prices for the 13-inch and 15-inch models are respectively $1299 and $1999.
The MacBook, the newest model in the MacBook range, is a fantastic all-purpose choice. It is slimmer and lighter than the Pro while still having a Retina display. The 13-inch model costs $1299 as a starting price.
What MacBook is ideal for you, then? Depending on your needs, yes. The Pro is a fantastic option if you require a powerful laptop for video editing or gaming. The Air is a wonderful choice if you need a portable laptop for work or study. And the new MacBook is a terrific option if you want a fantastic all-around MacBook.

OP asked the differences by the way them aside from the specs, and you do exactly that 🤦
Also everyone knows that Macs aren't for gaming, especially with the SoCs - +1 y
Between* not by the way, stupid autocorrect

Also 16GB RAM isn't even that much and is an embarrassment for Apple to put so little in such an overpriced laptop lmfao 🤣

MacBook Air has M1 and M2, MacBook Pro has M1 Pro/Max and soon (or maybe now?) M2 Pro/Max
Intel iGPUs are NOT meant for gaming, like... at all - +1 y
Sure the newer MacBook Pros have like 32GB RAM max, but Windows laptops at that price point have 48-64GB RAM
- +1 y
Also strange that Apple doesn't include dedicated GPUs in all of their Pro models since they do have a partnership with AMD (and yes AMD has planned to make ARM chipsets)
- +1 y
And for the older x86 Intel CPUs, clock speed alone is a horrible metric for benchmarking performance
- +1 y
Macs are only good at programming, content creation, multitasking, and multimedia usage; Windows are good at gaming, graphically intensive work, and third party support; Linux excels in servers, IT networking, cybersecurity, and customization
- +1 y
And before the SoCs were made, any Apple fanboy justifying spending double the money for MacBook Pro for not even a quarter faster performance over the Air model are deluded

+1 yMacbook air is supposed to be light and thin and pro offers the most processing power.
I also think the pro has a bigger screen, bigger everything while the air is as small as possible, while still being a full sized laptop.00 Reply - 1.1K opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic.
+1 yWell my MacBook Pro has a DVD player in it but they can’t fit that in the MacBook Air because it’s too thin and now they don’t even make them anymore in the laptops but also the memory is bigger in a pro
