That's a simple but difficult question.

Put succinctly. Adwords in Google. Bing, Facebook and others have their PPC systems as well. You're basically trying to compete with others on a word, phrase or long tail expression, in the the hope you get within the first page of results.

This increases your chances of getting a "click" and thus driving traffic to your site for the cost of that click.

You need to be on top of your analytics to make sure your costs and Ad are point.
