If you mean storing app passwords in the phone, it's to make them easier to use. If you mean the PIN to get into the phone, that's to keep my device mine and safe.

Security and privacy.
Anyone having access to my computing devices can cause damages big enough to cut me off from my livelihood resulting in my own demise. And I am not that suicidal yet.
