As long as the phone is completely turned on, I don't have to enter the password to do things on it but, if it goes to sleep after non-use, and I get a phone call coming in, it refuses to let me answer the call!! I'm guessing that it wants me to punch in the password before it'll let me take the call but it won't let me go to the password screen, either!!
Is there a way to keep me from HAVING to re-enter the password just to answer a call?

you have to go to the settings on your phone...
then you have to find the Security settings
then, select the option to NONE in the section where it asks you to set a PIN/password/pattern or whatever...
there might also be an option to "quick swipe" on the screen in order to unlock it
I don't mind there BEING a password, I just don't wanna HAVE to use it every time I wake up the phone or a call comes in.
well... that's the point of a password
but try to check if your phone allows for fingerprint unlock
or with the "quick-swipe-gesture"
It has an option where I can just pick it up and put it to my ear to answer it but I have to get a call to see if/how it works.
It's in Settings and how to do it depends on what phone it is, but, you're new to cell phones (we just call them phones now) at age 58? They came out around when you were 25, and they had car phones before that.
Yeah, I know when they came out. Thery started in the late `70's looking like a walkie talkie and you had to take a briefcase with you to make it work. Mostly pimps and drug dealers used them.
Until a few years ago, I just never had any use for them. Hardly anybody ever called me on the HOUSE phone so, why would I NEED one in my pocket? I also couldn't afford one and just didn't want one! Now that I have one, I STILL only get MAYBE 1 call a day from my girlfriend!! Otherwise, I rarely ever even turn it on. I don't have to have it in my hand and shining in my face 24/7, either.
