Why do low end phones have much higher screen resolutions than low end laptops?

Phones I used had much higher screen resolutions than Laptops I used.

Laptobs are stuck with 1366X768 Pixel Screen.

My cheap phone have a resolution of 2400X1080 Pixels.

Mostly cost. The manufacturers of phone screens are setup for cheaply making the high DPI screens. It'll likely cost as much or more to get a lower resolution phone screen made now.

While for laptops. It's still slightly cheaper to build a 1366x768 screen. Probably super cheap. But even $350 laptops have 1920x1080 now. Really, with how crappy cheap laptops are. You are far better off getting a used Thinkpad for the price. It'll be faster and better built. As those cheap laptops use horrible CPU.

I am not American. 1080p Laptops are expensive to me.

Why would you buy one? You can get a used Thinkpad for the price. Which will blow it out of the water in speed, memory, keyboard quality and screen quality. At worst, it'll need a new battery.

I've had many used computers from eBay. If you are cautious in your selection. You can get exceptional deals.

Don't know what is available in other countries. The cheapest new one I found was $325. But they won't stop making them until it is cheaper or just as cheap to build a 1920x1080 panel or the panel makers close the lines to make room for higher resolution panels.
