Turns out a lot of issues are fixed for like less than 100$. Uh, yes I'd rather cut my fingers and swear up my garage than fork out 1000$ everytime a light won't turn on, thank you very much 🤣

I could be the cable girl but thats about it lol. I was just always good at hooking up shit for people 🤣

I’m pretty good at putting stuff together too like furniture and crap

But thats about it. I can't do the important stuff like fix a car, change a tire, etc lol
Aah but changing a tire is like the absolute most basic you should know lol 🤣🤣🤣
I like to look at cars not touch them. So i never tried. But had i gone to trade school instead of the pointless degree i did, i wouldve happily become a mechanic
They are in high demand at the moment so they probably make good (ish) money.
In high demand why? doesn't seem like people drive as much anymore
cause less people are going to school for trades and skills. Liberal Arts, Social Work, and a lot of more intellectual type of education is really popular right know.
I don't know why. They are wasting their time going to 4 year schools unless theyre going to be a dentist, doctor, engineer or lawyer. Even nurses and techs are struggling
Nurses struggling is an understatement. The healthcare field is apocalyptic right now.
Yea but im not referring to all this covid stuff. Even some years before 2020, nurses just werent the shit anymore yet people kept wasting their time majoring in that saying they’d make bank when they dont
I can do anything on a car and have the tools for the large majority of repairs. Yes, it saves a huge amount of money over a lifetime. It's well worth the time to learn, and the cost of buying tools. Most of the tools can be used for repairs around the house, which can also save tons of money.
You learn by doing. Even most professional mechanics learn that way, not from any kind of formal education or apprenticeship. Too many people are afraid to dig in. But it's the best way to learn. Start with easy stuff and keep going.
I think people are overwhelmed when they look at a car. They see too many things they don't understand, but they should not be looking at all that stuff. They should focus on just one thing.
You are a fucking imbecile and they were just cashing in on it.
Sure a few things can be done yourself, like light replacements, wipers, oil etc. But if you're buying shit cars, that are failing rapid, then it's your fault, not theirs.
I know the basics and can do small jobs like fixing something at home or changing at tire. Beyond that I know my limitations and would call an expert.
Careful with "experts" though. They count on us not knowing these things.
Very true. I try to get recommendations for people I can trust.
Good Idea. I also tend to google the issue and watch as many videos as I can and see whats a common solution between all of them

I can put gas in and start the car and I know how to make an appointment at the mechanics, that is the extent of my mechanical abilities.
The honesty here lol.
Depends on what it is. Electrically I’m pretty good. At least I’d hope so as I am an electrician.
I can do a lot of stuff.
