Anyone else avoid recommending people?

People ask me for recommendations and I always just lie and say I don't know of anyone because I don't want them coming back and be like they did this I wasn't happy at all bla bla bla

I have high standards. I only recommend people who meet or exceed my expectations. My customers trust me very much. They know how high my standards are

Depends on who is asking but, yes, I've done that.

Nope. Part of my job. For example, I get calls like "I need a good attorney for a med-mal case. Whom should I call?" on an almost daily basis.
