Yes, for some apps I turn off banner notifications so it just vibrates without giving me a notification. This is useful for me because if I'm on a dating app for example I don't want people to see any of the messages I'm receiving on there if they happen to glance over at my phone.

It went away over time, and now my phone is always on blast and I don't put it in my pants.
