I have a few friends in the online games I play and I chat with them from the common chat during the game, but I never reply to their private messages. Because I really don't like texting with people but they find it very rude and weird. Do you think this is weird or rude?

No, it's fine, and it's better to stay out of the DM/PM realm anyway bc that's where the REAL weirdos use isolation to get you alone and start working their weirdo-ness on you.

I mean, on the other hand, you can also have some great intimate conversations where it's easier to open up and connect deeper. But more often than not you're going to get some weirdos who want to get freaky but don't want anyone else to know about it so they are PMing you to isolate.

You're fine, and I would be suspicious of anyone using that kind of language to shame or manipulate you.

Not sure how u can call them friends if u are not able to message them directly lol fair enough if that how u feel bit if someone was like that with me I wouldn't call them a friend just some person I sometimes game with

Its rude if you don't explain that you don't like texting with people. That way they know it's not THEM, it's just your default.
