I do this all the time and have ever since the internet has been available. I don't know why, I just never get tired of the reaction despite how lame it is.

And I was doing it before that movie where Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were interns at Google.

No. But I will say "the google". I. e. example I used "the google" to look something up last night.

Someone misheard me once and thought I said "the google" and teased me for it, so I just went with it and now I just do it intentionally.

I love doing this type of stuff with my nephews because they think they are so knowledgeable (and they are pretty smart, just as most teenagers, not as smart as THEY think they are). So I feign ignorance about common tech stuff just to watch them roll thier eyes and correct me with a big grin on thier face.
