What will be the future of digital marketing?

I’m thinking AI and VR.


With a good enough algorithm, ads could be spontaneously created to cater to target audiences or even specific individuals (based on search history, etc.). This already being done, but with AI, this could potentially be done even more rapidly and accurately.


Next is VR or augmented reality. If they become mainstream, then that’s new digital real estate. Wherever there is attention, there’s the potential to monetize.


So if more and more online traffic is going to VR platforms for entertainment (or perhaps even utility) that’ll be a new frontier for digital marketing, and the first ones to master that landscape will come out ahead.

I think the new crises in our world is mental health and obesity and drugs and alcohol. People now have so much ease and comfort they are getting mental illness due to inactivity and a lack of pressure in their lives so any product you create that fills the mental health gap in society will probably sell. I view things like video games and movies as mental health tools that help people address their boredom and depression.
