May someone who is great with computers, help me find the best antivirus program, for my HP Chromebook?

I had opened a few spam emails, I thought were from my phone company, just called, and a woman said to me, that this isn't from them. I can't get into my inbox to read emails, which I so need to do. My chromebook has been lagging a lot since this. I also know that on my chromebook, has protected stuff or something like that to protect my chromebook.

what do you think I need to do?

There is no need for an antivirus program on Chromebook. What you need instead is to make the right changes to your chrome settings. Click on "settings" and "privacy and security" and change your settings to "high"

A word of advice: "spam" emails are filtered because they are deemed dangerous or fraudulent. You should never open them unless you are sure of what they are.

everything was set to high, already.
Guess it was just the email itself, messed up. The lagging, with pages was something else, when I seen I needed to update the chomebook, everything stopped lagging.

I have always felt Anti viruses are shady. I mostly rely on windows defender tbh along with a dns tunnel like Cloudflare warp. Just recently added Microsoft PC manager for health check ups and stuff. So far this combination has been working great for me. Never felt the need of antiviruses.

ChromiumOS is a Linux based OS from Google. Opening a couple spam emails isn't going to do anything to your computer. That tab in chromiumOS would be sandboxed. You would have had to put in your super user password to grant root access to some specific application to changed permissions/files...

While I doubt anything really happened if you want to feel like you did something you can always go into recovery mode by pressing and holding Esc + Refresh followed by pressing Power. Then let go of Power. On some models press and hold Esc + Maximize and then press Power. Then let go of Power when and when a message shows on the screen let go of the other keys.

Be careful of what other people are telling you, my suggestion is restoring your Chromebook or restore to flash driver also emails you don't recognize just delete them.

Lookup a youtube video on resetting your chromebook model and do that. You don't need antivirus programs for Chromebooks.
