What does this 😗 emoji mean?

(by the way this is an apple emoji so I’m unsure if it would present the same way on android devices).

I was so sorely mistaken because before I had been using this emoji as kinda like a neutral and semi-awkward face, kinda to fill a gap in a conversation or something but it’s been a kiss this whole time and somebody told me that and thought I was using it purposefully and it was such an oops moment

That emoji usually means a peck or kiss. Like when you're giving a little peck to someone on the lips or cheek. Usually looks like you're puckering up to softly kiss em real quick.

I think in general people use it to indicate like a cute little kissing face. Like if a girl sends it after you compliment her or say something sweet, it's her way of kinda kissing you back but through text, ya know?

Sometimes girls will even use it when they're teasing you a little bit, like "I wish you were here to give me a real kiss instead of just this emoji." It can have that flirty, playful vibe too depending on the context.
