Does the tiktok app spy on people?

i jusk look at videos on tiktok i don't make them i use the site on my pc but i can't seem to follow anyone that way.

i was told i may have to download the app on my phone to follow people but i heard you should never put tiktok on your phone.

i did not want to waste a question by asking this but i'm curious what people think about the app.

I'm sure most apps on your phone does that. Google tries to figure out what you like doing so it can capitalize on it.
