I've heard people call Reddit toxic all the time, but I've been on Reddit for three or four years now and have only once had anyone be toxic to me at all, and it was more laughable than actually harmful.

I think it just depends on the communities. I stay out of communities that are competitive or strongly opinionated. That means no politics. Even most competitive games will have a secondary subreddit that's a lot more chill.

So at the point where Reddit is only toxic when you step into the toxicity, it seems to me like Reddit is just as toxic, or non-toxic, as Twitter, Tumblr, Amino, or any other social media. It can be a totally chill time or a totally shit time, all up to how you use it.

Depends on topic. Moderators on some political and social subreddits behave like they came from Stalin's NKVD bureau

The worst part, as someone who doesn’t use it, seems to be the moderation. Every single post seems to be deleted or banned or whatever. And from what I hear they can and will search your post history to find stuff to ban you on, and will even ban you from certain forums just for posting on a different one.

The worst thing about reddit isn't the trolls. A troll is harmless. The worst thing about reddit is the regular users. Redditors are the most egotistical, dysgenic, soy-faced losers in all of existence. Terrible people.
