It's going to take a while for that technology to really take off commercially. There are many reasons for this but they boil down to the fact it's unrealistic at this point to use it to power electronics like phones or watches anytime soon.

Imagine the challenge an electrical engineer is going to have with a power source that fluctuates with humidity and temperature. And it's not a lot of power these things make.

There are many better areas to look in like Samsung high density batteries which I believe they're about to build a factory using funds from a deal they are finalizing with Toyota. I might be getting Samsung confused for another company.

There is a Chinese company that has finished developing a battery that works off radio active material which apparently can power a smartphone for 25 years.

I remember reading a paper years ago about these batteries and the challenges associated with manufacturing it and making sure it doesn't cause harmful radiation just because someone drops it or overheats it.

If this company can convince the population their batteries are safe, that's something likely to hit big.
