I never really saw the point of it since I'd rather make a true friend with whom I can just share whatever without worrying about anything.

I even share things openly like my vices, knowing I would likely repel some people through it, but then I don't have to worry with the ones who stick around that they'll discover them in the future. If we're aiming to find our truest friends, I never saw the point of deceiving them about who we are.

I no longer use social media though unless this site counts, and when I used the likes of Facebook in the past, I only added people I knew in real life.
