How does it feel to quit social media, especially Instagram?

The key to social media is to have control and to not waste your time scrolling and watching reels. And the most important thing, to not use it in order to get confidence from likes, attention etc. If your confidence comes from an external place, it’s not real confidence.
But it’s generally hard for people to accomplish the things that I mentioned. I hate instagram and for me not having an account there doesn’t feel like a loss or anything. But now I created an account again because I wanted to create a group chat and connect with some individuals. That’s all. Shallow people often judge others who do not use social media because they are jealous of their confidence and their courage to stand out.
Quitting social media is amazing, but if you don’t have many friends or friends at all, you might get bored eventually and want to have some kind of interaction.

You don't have to be involved with social media to use it. When I see a SWAT team at a certain location, I don't look to TV news or radio websites to find out what's going on. They censor the news. Fuck that. I turn to Facebook and get to hear and see what the average Joe has to say. I'm talking about the guy or girl on the scene. This is why Congress is trying to ban social media. They can no longer control the flow of information.

I love X, because the liberals are terrified of free speech.

I was coaxed on to social media at a time when I was moving around the country to keep in touch with those that I met through work or socially. I quickly realized that beyond the basic networking aspects there was no more that I liked about it. In fact I realized the likes of Facebook became a sesspool of polarized views , self esteem issues , people living their super fake best lives, spreading mis-information. Obsessing over their likes 👍 or comments. Once I removed myself from one , the others fell like dominoes and I have never looked back. My only wish was that I’d done it sooner ! … in a word I felt liberated and happier besides.

It’s a different life & it’s a wonderful life & you should give it a try. As for me I never had Instaspam or TikTok but there was a time where I had facebook & if truth be told it got old & I let it go & that was the best decision.

There is a world out there & people seemed to forget it.

I enjoy social media because I don't follow junk pages. I follow pages that are useful such as Christian based content creators, health care agencies, acorns/everest/Sach investing, real estate and local events. Those who complain about social media are usually the problem themselves

I think it depends on how important it is to you in the first place and what you use it for.
I’ve quit before and it didn’t really make a difference except that I wasn’t connected to old friends anymore.

Boring lol.

I grew up on social media. I follow animals and inspiring pages and connect with the world.

Yes breaks are good. It can be more productive... less distracting... but I don't always feel to work 24/7.

Only late in life I began to share myself. I mainly just followed.

But I limit who I follow. Also. I do business transactions.. shopping on there a lot. Easy to find stuff.. makes life easier.
