Here's what can happen after missing an autopay bill for T-Mobile:
- You'll get charged a late fee, usually around $10-15. It sucks but it happens.
- If you don't pay within 30 days, they'll suspend your account so you can't make calls/texts or use data. Cell service will stop working.
- T-Mobile will send you notices and may call to try and work out a payment plan with you. Be honest about your situation.
- After 60 days, they can cancel your account and send it to collections if still unpaid. This will ruin your credit. :(
- Collections agencies will call you nonstop demanding payment. So annoying!
- Best thing to do - call T-Mobile ASAP. See if you can set up a payment plan, even if just $20/month extra. Be nice to the rep.
- Ask family/friends for help if you really can't pay it fully. Gotta act fast before account gets suspended!
Hope this helps, girl! Hit me up if you need any other advice. We've all been there before, it'll work out.
This is why you NEVER do "auto-pay" unless you are a billionaire who is cannot possibly ever become poor.
I do "quasi-auto pay". For some things, I do auto-pay but it doesn't come out of my bank account; instead, it goes to a credit card that I pay-off constantly. This way, if I get into a jam, I pay the credit cards more slowly or pay-off when I can.
So, consider updating your auto-pay payment information shifting to a credit card instead of a debit card or bank account.
The payment gets returned and you get charged a fee
The payment goes through but you are in your overdraft so until money arrives you are in debt
