Would a budget website be a good idea?

or is it more worth it to save up to get a better budget for a website than to get a crappier one, thing is if you get the crappier you might be able to make more to get a better one or people might think the site looks shady af and not buy anything, so what is a better idea, budget site or save up for a pricey site?

It looks to me like people tend to trust popular enough sites to buy anything, and I think they should proceed like that, for security reasons in fact. There is also this thing that very few people seem to visit or be informed about small sites anymore. It looks like everything to sell, when you're a small fish swimming with the sharks, is sold using social medias, because everyone uses social medias, any generations now.

Good luck with such an ultra-competitive world though, you will spend days and nights trying to figure out how to turn these algorithms in your favor lol.

For me it's going to be customized designs on not just shoes but I plan on expanding to other things so it's not something that can be purchased anywhere so i think a site for it would go well

You're asking the wrong question.

You need to have the correct setup for a website - regardless of it's budget. You can buy an expensive theme from themeforrest to clone/match any website you like. But unless you know what you are doing, it will be a crap website.

there are countless free templates you can align to your needs... so if you bought a domain, set up DNS, and bought a server space, you can upload the website you created by yourself...

Thats not the starting point of the question to me. What kind of site are you trying to make to begin with?

A store site, so now I pay fees cause eBay and all these sites charge about 12% with additional fees per item sold so add it up and it's a lot, if I ran my own site I can get 100%

I don't think it will take that much. Just takes you a bit of research if you wanna do it on the cheap. Research prestashop for example. Security is a thing if your gonna DIY since either you need to keep it secure and up to date, or you need it hosted as a service (or go with hosted alternatives like shopify). I guess that actually doesn't look too bad, too much white and thin lines make it look less of quality but if this is like the cheapest type then that is actually quite good, is there anywhere I can make it myself, not any of those simple apps tho like a software or tool that's a bit more sophisticated.

I used Microsoft Front Page and created. my own website. There are many y tools out there you can get for free or on a trial basis
