I actually didn't know this until I looked it up. The charges against Trump are valid and, if they weren't held back during his presidency, nobody would bat an eye at them. The fact is, a sitting president cannot be put on trial. So any acts before he's in office cannot be prosecuteduntil he's out of office. Essentially the office puts a hold on the statute of limitations. As for whrn the trial took place, that had to. do with Trump's attempts to delay it as much as possible
