REMEMBER THIS PRIME FISCAL DIRECTIVE:
>>>>>>>>>> Maximize income, minimize expenses!
So, just do this:
1. Make money.
2. Pay only for things that keep you alive: food, gas, shelter, electricity, heat, phone, Internet, hygiene sundries, etc. If it involves transient fun, fuck that - waste of money.
3. Save the rest.
If you can't save anything, then you are living beyond your means and need to find a way to reduce expenses or increase income.
The basic premise is to write down how much you make, and how much you spend. And ensure spending is less than income.
I’d recommend starting with an app or something. There are a lot of budgeting apps out there to use.
It takes a lot of practice. And almost everyone struggles with it the first little bit. Because they think they actually spend less than they do. But once you get on track, it’ll feel like you have more money.
Final suggestion. Make a new budget each month. So much can change month to month, and you want the flexibility of not being locked into something longer term. It’s a plan you make. And if you want to spend more, either reduce from another category, or wait until next months budget.
