Unsending an Instagram message after a year?

I sent a message to someone on Instagram over a year ago, neither of us follow each other.

I'm assuming they never saw the message because to this day it says "Invite Sent" and that I can't send them any more messages until they accept my invite.

So, my questions:

-At this point, is there any way I can unsend the original message?

-If we both follow each other NOW, will the message on their end pop up as a normal message in their inbox?

I would just leave it alone now. You have probably spent countless moments checking and hoping for a response within this year when you should’ve moved on when a week or two, even a month passed. The truth of the matter is whether you’re friends online or not she doesn’t want to privately chat with you. She saw your message, didn’t want to engage privately with that one on one conversation, and moved on. Maybe it’s time you do too.

In your message requests on insta you can preview the question before seeing it. She can see you sent her a message and made a choice not to respond because she doesn’t want to speak with you in that way. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s hard to believe you sent that message and haven’t thought about it at all again until recently but o won’t go back and forth about your pride.

You don't get it. The message was never seen, it ended up in the message request folder, not the actual message inbox. You and a bunch of women on here are absolutely delusional.

Right because when everyone is telling you opposing things we must be all wrong. If you’re going to be that stubborn and refuse to process an opinion just because you don’t agree with it then I don't know why you posted in the first place. I know how Instagram works, she can see your message beforehand in the requests. You have to approve the message before it goes to your inbox and you can see what the person wrote. Right below the message you can approve, deny or leave it there. She didn’t touch it. Even if you go to your messages there’s a red dot up there to indicate someone sent a request. She knows it is there.

You literally just confirmed what I'm saying. The message requests folder just shows messages from spam accounts or from people you're not following. If you don't go through each message individually or if you just mass delete the folder, none of the messages are seen. She never saw the message regardless, otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question in the first place.
