Shall I delete my Instagram account permanently?

I feel like it has been the cause of my anxiety/depression.. moreso after a recent breakup.
BUT it has some uses such as keeping in touch with others and I have an art account too where I share my drawing skills so not sure what to do.

Self discipline can be hard. Especially when it comes to social media. However, I definitely think you should keep it to post your art and connect with friends. Me and my brother had this same problem. He decided to delete it all together, and I decided to limit myself. My brother is sad that he can’t contact certain people or see what they or doing or post his art, but he is glad that his insta-anxiety is gone. For me it’s been hard to limit myself, but I’ve been doing better. Practice makes perfects.

I think that before deleting it, give yourself some time off of instagram. Delete the app and don't download it again for a month or two. It helped me a lot cause I also hated people (toxic) in it and most of my friends were fake too. I deleted it and lasted like 6 months without it. I felt I could finely stay calm and breath from all the anxiety that it brought me

Without even needing to read the reasons, you should delete your social media. It is absolutely causing a lot of unnecessary anxiety, but that is what it was designed to do. You are giving up a lot of personal data to marketing firms which they used to have to pay people for but now no longer do because of the human desire to be paid attention to, they can get you to give up the goods for free. And let’s face it it’s also giving warrantless surveillance powers to state actors.

Instagram is not the "cause" of your anxiety or depression. Those causes are internal, not external. Instagram is a tool, nothing more. Personally, I think it's a waste of time. There are many other ways to stay in touch with the people who matter in your life.

Just disable it temporarily or delete the app and not your account. That way you get a little mental break from it but if you want to back on to contact friends, you’re able to

If I was you I would maybe delete it to be honest. Even the fact that you are thinking about it this much signals that you are seriously thinking about getting it deleted. Do it for you girl. You can always make a new one when you are in a better state of mind.

I used to think Facebook was worse but I deleted that, but yeah insta just makes me stressed lol

Yes. I did it when I had issues. It helped tremendously. Use WhatsApp or whatever to keep in touch with friends.
