Is a watch like Garmin vivoactive 5 practical for daily use?

I don't get the value of any of these smart watches when it comes to fitness. Do you need a piece of electronics to tell you you're working your heart and lungs hard? Do you need help knowing you're pushing your muscles to failure? So it tells you that you didn't have optimal sleep. In the morning. After the fact. How does that help? You don't know you didn't get a good night's rest.
And why do virtually all the people I see with FitBits and Smart Watches all look fat and flabby? Like they have never seen the inside of a gym or ran 5 miles on asphalt. How does a piece of electronics change a person's inherent laziness and bad eating habits?
I guess I'm not the target market for these things.
i have no experience with that exact model but i have a galaxy watch 5 and it's super practical for healthy sports habits plus it occasionally saves me the time of getting my phone out.
That's already well you know 😊
Yeah. I have a Garmin that I wear 24/7. Switched from an Apple Watch and never looked back.
Interesting! 🤔 What makes the Garmin better?
So I use mine mostly for health and fitness purposes. I never had apps or used those types of features on the Apple Watch.
I used it to check notifications, tell time, track health data, etc. The Garmin does all that, just better.
Garmin is also waaaaay better with mapping, since that is what the company is all about. I’ll never go back and I love my iPhone, iPad, Mac and all that.
If that says anything about how much better Garmin is.
Gotcha. 👍 Yeah, Garmin is a maps and navigation company at its core.
Those are accurate points.
As long as battery last, and I would consider that as well the notifications, time, extra other features, as long as it's sturdy it would be ok.
Oh well that's good news if that's the case despite with the always on display. I definitely consider the battery life.
It seems like a sturdy kind.
I just got in time for the sale Lols 😆
The ones that synch with your phone are the most useful.

Any watch that keeps time, and you can read the time, is practical.
Yeah well I will consider practicality.
We are surrounded by clocks.
Who needs a watch any longer?
I have a garmin watch and I love it. It’s a lower model but very practical
Which one are you using and how is it?
I decided to go for the basic route as I just want something sturdy but works.
While it is on sale
Oh well yeah that definitely would suit you. Rugged type of watch.
Smart watches are a gimmick. You can have mine.
What did you get?
How long is the battery life?
Ill go for the Garmin especially the long battery life would be practical 11 days is fine for me than a day battery.
I don't think so.
It is
