What's the worst thing about having to get a new cellphone when you can no longer use the one you had?

I never take my cell phone out anywhere with me. I leave it at home in the stand.
The other day I had to renew my driver's license and they had downloaded a QR code to my email so I had to take it with me so they could get the email.
When I got home my phone just had a gray screen and nothing else. I had to buy a new phone. I hate my new phone and want my old one back, but they couldn't fix it. 😒

I love new phones, just transfer everything over, takes a few days to get used to whatever new technology they have this year, and go. I do always take a paper copy of something important because anything could go wrong, they could block your signal in the building, bad signal generally, battery died and you forgot to charge it in time, all sorts.

But why don't you ever take your phone with you anyway? A ship in harbor is safe, but that's not what ships built for.

Phones are typically only supported for 4 to 5 years thus pretty much forcing you to get a new one every 6 or so years. I found if you stick to the same make and series they're basically the same from model year to model year with a few changes the mfr calls improvements.

I believe what you said is why I am encountering so much frustration and problems with this new God-awful phone I am stuck with.
My last phone I bought only about 8 or 9 months ago. I bought it at the Metro phone store. It was a Nikea (spelling?) and easy to operate and use. But it broke the first time I took it out of my home.
I was not at the phone store this time to pick out my own phone. However, I sent instructions with my friend to give to the sales guy saying that I wanted the same phone - the newer one though.
But he said they weren't reliable and sold me a Samsung galaxy A15 5g phone. Totally different animal from my old phone. I HATE it!!!
This phone does all sorts of things by itself without asking me.😡 It installed about 8 games to play but I don't play games.
Each game app uses storage right? And my old phone all I had to do to uninstall an app was select the app and just drag it to the top and there was a place already there that easily uninstalled the app, all I had to do was drag in to the word "uninstall" and let go and it was done.
The Samsung phone opened up the game so I couldn't drag it to get rid of it. It took a long time to keep messing with it and I was ready to scream.
It upgraded something while I was sleeping and the bright white light woke me up!! Garrett!
I wonder if I can take it back? Plus the Samsung is going to cost me $15/mo more each month. He didn't tell me about that either. 😵‍💫

To delete an app on the samsung just hold your fingdr on the app fir a few seconds and a delete option will pop up touch delete and bingo it's gone forever unless you reinstall it.

I used to use a flip phone. I had the same 10 dollars a month plan I got when I worked at a hospital over 20 years ago. Three years ago I had to get a smartphone for my new job. It is 100 bucks a month instead of 120bucks a month.

Having to buy a new one and taking the time to find one worth getting, then having to get a new case for it and hoping it (the phone itself) doesn’t break before I get a good case for it.
