Should I buy a new phone before my old breaks down?

I thought if I buy it before I need it, I can take advantage of discounts and buy at an opportune time - my lap top broke down during the first week of school years ago and I had less than 4-5 days to get a replacement since I needed it to record lecture slides.

There's certainly no harm in looking; as you say, you could find deals and explore options without the stress of being phoneless. And if your current one lasts longer than expected, you could use it as a backup.

Yes that's a good idea. The new phone will still be just as new when you start using it after throwing away your old phone.

I replaced my iPhone a couple months ago. Got nearly nothing on the trade in because I waited so doggone long!!! I'm now planning to replace it as often as I can before I can't use my apps anymore.
